Program via CHIRP
This is the instructions for programming Ansoko A-8S /A-77 UHF walkie talkies via CHIRP.

CHIRP is a programming APP that supports various walkie-talkie models in the market and runs on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10, Mac OS, Linux OS.
* This Tutorial demo was made under window 10 operating system, Mac and Linux are the same.

Once you have installed the APP, you will see an icon in your Start menu (as shown below):
Click on the icon to run CHIRP, then you will see the home interface of the APP, click the Radio option on the menu bar,
and select Download From Radio from the drop-down menu:
Now please connect your radio to your computer with the programming cable, the 2-pin plug goes to the jack, looks like this:
(*It is on the ride side of your walkie-talkie, covered with a rubber cap, the headset also uses this port to connect.)
Once you insert the USB plug into your computer USB port, you will see the active ports show in the port list:
* Please note that all active ports will be on the list. If you are unsure which one is for the radio,
you could try each of them to download data from your radio until the APP successfully downloads the data.

Select Ansoko from the Vendor list:

Select your radio model from the list:
(A-8S and A-77 share the same driver, if you are programming A-77 please select A-8S from the model list.)

And follow the steps below:
1. Turn the radio off,
2. Connect the cable to the mic/speaker port,
3. Make sure the connector is firmly connected,
4. Turn on the radio,
5. Ensure the radio is tuned to a silent channel,
6. Click OK button to download data from the device.

Once download completed, you will see all the channels listed as shown below:
Now you can edit the channel data just like editing an Excel spreadsheet, click into any of the cells will be able to edit the value.

Most of our customers live in the US, so you may need just the FRS/GMRS frequencies which do not require a license to use.
CHIRP has the most popular freq. config images for different countries such as the European LPD channels and the UK's PMR446 channels.
As well as the FRS/GMRS channels for the US users, NOAA weather channels. So you just need to load the config and upload to your radios.
* If you plan to travel to the European countries or other countries that use different frequencies,
remember to program your radios with the proper frequencies so you won't have any trouble getting caught with prohibited frequency use.
As there may be other people who are sharing the same frequency with you, you have a chance to receive unexpected talk.
To avoid this, you will need CTCSS/DCS codes to help to filter the unwanted signal.

With CHIRP you are also able to assign the codes/tones to your channels, Here's how:

Back to the frequency list interface, you will see the Tone Mode column, click each cell on the right side of the frequencies,
the interface will present a drop-down menu which includes: (None), Tone, TSQL, DTCS, Cross

* In CHIRP, they name TSQL instead of CTCSS and DTCS instead of DCS
* In CHIRP, they name TSQL instead of CTCSS and DTCS instead of DCS
When you select the TSQL (AKA: CTCSS) from the Tone Mode column and hit Enter to confirm,
The ToneSql column will present a default value, there are 50 CTCSS tones available from the drop-down menu:
You may also assign the DCS codes to the channel(s), select DTCS from the Tone Mode column and hit Enter.
You have 104 codes to select from the DTCS Code column drop-down menu to maximize the frequency usage:
* Please note that only with the same CTCSS/DCS codes will two or more radios be able to talk to one another.
For instance, if you assign code A to channel 1 (eg. 462.125MHz), you must assign the same code to all of the devices you wish to work together.

Once you have completed all the changes, please remember to upload the change to your radios:
Radio >> Upload To Radio (or press Alt+U) 
Click OK button to confirm upload:
Wait until the upload progress bar goes to 100%.
